Supporting pēpi, tamariki and whānau from pregnancy through the early years.
Our Family Start service provides intensive home based support for whānau experiencing challenges that may impact the wellbeing, safety or development of tamariki.
We work alongside whānau to strengthen parenting, improve health outcomes, support learning and build safe, nurturing environments where tamariki can thrive.
Who we support: From hapū māmā through to tamariki aged five years.
Whakatō te Kākano | Poipoia Te Mokopuna
Growing strong foundations for lifelong learning.
This programme supports Māori and Pasifika tamariki under three years of age to engage with early childhood education while strengthening whānau confidence in nurturing learning and development at home.
Grounded in tikanga and kaupapa Māori, the programme supports readiness for early learning and fosters belonging, identity and achievement.
Tamariki Matea Ako Arotake
Supporting tamariki and whānau to access disability and specialist support services.
Our team coordinates in home needs assessments to identify the supports required to enhance wellbeing, independence and quality of life for tamariki with disabilities.
We work alongside whānau to ensure they have greater understanding, choice and access to appropriate services.

Whānau Ora
Empowering whānau to achieve wellbeing through strengths based, holistic support.
Whānau Ora is a Māori led approach that recognises the strengths within whānau and supports collective aspirations across health, education, employment, housing and financial wellbeing.
Support is tailored to each whānau, helping build resilience, independence and long term wellbeing.
Areas covered: Hamilton East, Pirongia, Kāwhia, Ōtorohanga, Kihikihi and wider Waikato rural communities.
Mental Health Advocacy
Walking alongside tamariki and whānau to navigate mental health support systems.
This service provides advocacy, guidance and connection to fit for purpose supports that strengthen wellbeing and improve access to mental health services.
Kahu Piitongatonga | Counselling
Creating safe spaces for healing, growth and wellbeing.
Grounded in kaupapa Māori values, our counselling service provides free support for tamariki to explore challenges, build resilience and strengthen emotional wellbeing within a nurturing environment.

Te Haumirimiri Ngākau Mokopuna
Providing intensive, collaborative support for tamariki and whānau navigating complex challenges.
Delivered through a partnership between Oranga Tamariki, KFST, Tū Oho Mai, and K’aute Pasifika, this service supports whānau where there are significant concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of tamariki.
Together, we provide coordinated responses aimed at strengthening whānau and improving outcomes for tamariki requiring high intensity support.
Te Waka Tamariki
Supporting whānau to create warm, dry and healthy homes where tamariki can thrive.
We work alongside whānau to identify housing challenges that may impact health and wellbeing, providing practical advice, home assessments and connections to supports such as insulation, curtains and minor repairs.
By improving living environments, we aim to reduce preventable illness and strengthen wellbeing outcomes for tamariki.Championing coordinated support for tamariki with complex and multiple needs.
Te Waka Tamariki works collaboratively with professionals and agencies to ensure tamariki receive the right support at the right time.
The voice of the child remains central to all decision making, ensuring their needs, experiences and aspirations guide the support they receive.
Ngā Hua Whakatupuranga
Supporting tamariki and whānau impacted by family violence.
This collective response works alongside organisations across Kirikiriroa to provide early intervention and wraparound support following family violence incidents.
We focus on healing, safety and strengthening whānau relationships, ensuring tamariki who have experienced trauma receive the support needed to thrive.
Court Support
Supporting tamariki victim survivors and their whānau through the justice process.
This holistic service provides emotional, cultural, spiritual and practical support to tamariki and whānau navigating the criminal justice system following experiences of sexual violence.
Our focus is immediate safety, long term healing and strengthening resilience.

Kāinga Rua | Transitional Housing
Providing safe, fully furnished transitional housing for tamariki and whānau experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
With 43 properties ranging from one to four bedrooms, Kāinga Rua offers more than temporary accommodation. We wrap tailored support around whānau to strengthen wellbeing, improve stability, and support pathways toward long term, safe and affordable housing.
Our approach prioritises the hauora, safety and future of tamariki by ensuring they have a secure place to thrive.

Awhi Healthy Homes Initiative

Te Kapata o Kirikiriroa
Te Kapata o Kirikiriroa (Kirikiriroa's Cupboard) provides whānau with dignified access to affordable, nutritious kai while strengthening long-term wellbeing. This service is available by internal referral only for whānau currently engaged with Tamariki Tū Tamariki Ora services.
